Using FASTPASS as a Child Swap

Using FASTPASS as a Child Swap
You've paid for all of your Disney Park admission tickets, so use them all to your advantage when getting FASTPASSes.  If there is somebody in your party who is too short or too young or simply does not have the desire to go on a ride, use their admission ticket anyway to get an "extra" FASTPASS.
Let's say Mom and Dad are at the park with 10-year old Johnny and 5-year-old Sally. Sally cannot go on the ride as she is too short.  In spite of this, they use Sally's admission ticket to get that extra FASTPASS.  Dad and Johnny enjoy the ride using their FASTPASS tickets.  When they exit, Mom jumps back into the FASTPASS line with Johnny.  Mom gets to experience the ride and Johnny gets to ride twice.

You've paid for all of your Disney Park admission tickets, so use them all to your advantage when getting FASTPASSes.  If there is somebody in your party who is too short or too young or simply does not have the desire to go on a ride, use their admission ticket anyway to get an "extra" FASTPASS.

When to go Stand-By instead of using FASTPASS

As you arrive at your attraction, should you wait in the stand-by line or grab a FASTPASS and return later?  There are times when the stand-by line is your best option.

As mentioned earlier, you will see three lines: the standby line, the FASTPASS distribution line and the FASTPASS return line.  There will be a clock above both the stand-by and FASTPASS distribution entrances.

The stand-by clock displays the approximate wait time if you were to get in line right then and there.  If this time is 15 minutes or less it behooves you to wait it out.  If you choose to get a FASTPASS instead, you might easily spend that 15 minutes (or more) hauling back to the attraction later.  Even more importantly, because you can only have one FASTPASS at a time, you will be complicating your plan unnecessarily.

Is Disney FASTPASS Fair? What do you think?

Go to any discussion forum about Disney FASTPASS and chances are you’ll come across a (lively) conversation about the fairness of the FASTPASS system.

It couldn’t be more obvious while in the stand-by line for your favorite Disney attraction (for an hour!) that way more FASTPASS ticket holders (than you stand-by folk) are getting through.  This may have you and your family not quite feeling the magic.

But does this mean FASTPASS is unfair?  One argument is that those FASTPASS people leaving you in the dust would have been in front of you anyway if they had decided to wait it out in the stand-by line.

Assign a Disney FASTPASS Runner

It is completely acceptable for one person in your party to go off alone and gather your FASTPASS tickets for an attraction.  As a matter-of-fact, there are a couple of benefits to doing this.

First and foremost it doesn’t require that your entire party trek all the way across the park.  One person can no doubt get there faster and easier than the whole gang.  This allows the rest of the party to relax, eat, plot out your next move, etc.  *Just don’t count on going on going on a ride while your runner is gone, as he has your admission ticket.
